In honor of our office move to the northwest hallway of the third floor…   A book about the Northwest Passage!   While Bernard O’Reilly claims to be the author of this adventure, Greenland, the adjacent seas, and the North-west Passage to the Pacific Ocean (1818), his diary is actually a fake!  O’Reilly’s plagiarized material comes from Professor Sir C.L.M. von Giesecke’s lectures.  The book contains several illustrations and maps of O’Reilly’s supposed voyage—check out that arctic fox and polar bear!

We resume our regular reading room hours tomorrow.  Stop by to see the new arrangement!
